Mentoring
Providing guidance based on expertise and experience to provide success in careers. Make An AppointmentWhat is Mentoring?
This typically involves meeting with the mentee to determine their career goals, putting together a five year plan and developing their resume. After the first session, a plan of action will be designed with milestones. With that established, Magna Reign will meet with the mentee, based on an agreed up cadence, to bring their plan to life.

Magna Reign’s Approach to Mentoring
Mentoring vs Coaching: What’s the Difference?
Coaching and mentoring are both forms of support and guidance, but they have distinct differences:
Focus: Coaching focuses on the present and the future, helping the individual set and achieve specific goals. Mentoring, on the other hand, involves a more long-term relationship and a wider focus that includes both personal and professional development.
Relationship: Coaches and clients have a professional relationship that is focused on the specific goals and objectives set by the client. Mentors and mentees typically have a more personal relationship, built on trust and a shared understanding of the mentee’s experiences and aspirations.
Expertise: Coaches do not necessarily have to have expertise in the specific area in which the client needs support. Mentors, on the other hand, often have significant experience and expertise in a particular field or industry and share their knowledge and wisdom with their mentee.
Approach: Coaches use a structured and goal-oriented approach, often utilizing tools and techniques to help the client achieve their objectives. Mentors take a more informal approach, relying on their experiences and personal knowledge to guide and support their mentee.
Duration: Coaching relationships are often time-bound, lasting several months to a year, while mentoring relationships can continue for several years or even a lifetime.

“Anthony Lauderdale brought the breadth of his experience to bear as the Director of United Airlines’ Threat Detection, Monitoring and Incident Response. He would provide guidance and support as necessary but allowed teams the independence and flexibility to work as creatively as they needed. I would often consult Anthony on some of our team’s Endpoint Security Architecture strategies for what would make the best impact in the coming quarters or years. Even after moving on from United, I’ve kept in touch with Anthony because of his wealth of knowledge, his open feedback and his willingness to mentor if asked.”

“For years, Anthony served as an alumni mentor to students in the International Affairs program at Mercer University. As a graduate of that program, Anthony has offered the benefits of his many experiences as a source of inspiration and guide for current students charting their career paths and making future plans. In doing so, Anthony invested his own funds to return to Mercer on several occasions to talk with and arrange for individual meetings with interested students. He has delivered speeches on career planning and has served as an inspiration for many. Best of all, Anthony was also instrumental in finding employment for several students who sought his advice and assistance. As an alumni mentor, Anthony has made a meaningful difference in the career pursuits of many of the students he counseled over the years.”

“Having worked with Anthony during my time at United Airlines (Year Up intern and FTE), he has always been the consummate leader that anybody would be lucky to have as a teacher and mentor. I’ve always been impressed by his level of professionalism, work ethic, and knowledge in Cybersecurity, specifically Threat Detection. What really makes him stand out though is his willingness to help others and lift them up as he climbs. Anybody would be lucky to work with Anthony.”
